Historic Downtown Argenta

Argenta was named for the silver mines at the old Kellogg Diggins north of town in 1866. Today, the official downtown of North Little Rock is a rapidly growing and flourishing historic district. Home to locally-owned entertainment venues, bars, restaurants, boutiques, and other businesses, Argenta also offers access to the Arkansas River Trail as well as the Dickey-Stephens Ballpark – home field of the Arkansas Travellers.

The River Rail Streetcar runs through Argenta as well – take a tour and see the historical sights in old-school, wood-paneled comfort! The operators are all trained tour guides and they’ll offer you the history of the area while you travel.

Old Mill

The Old Mill is a historic re-creation of an 1880’s water-powered grist mill built in a little jewel of a neighborhood park. It features sculptures by Senor Dionicio Rodriguez and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (Site #86003585). The Old Mill was also featured in the opening credits of the classic movie, Gone With the Wind!
