February 21, 2017

Fayetteville might be the third largest city in Arkansas, but it has first-class Arkansas attractions. If you are staying in Fayetteville here are a few things you should check out.

If you are using Arkansas Suites to secure your short term apartment, ask us about popular attractions. Our team is very familiar with the wonderful city of Fayetteville. We want to make sure you enjoy your temporary home.

1. The farmer’s market.

Fayetteville has an award-winning farmers market. Should you find yourself in this corner of Arkansas during the season between early spring and early autumn, don’t miss the market in the Historic Fayetteville Square. During the rest of the year the market is held at Ozark Natural Foods. The Fayetteville Farmers Market is 100% local. After all, Arkansas is the natural state.

Looking for more than just fresh food? Stop by on a Saturday. Street performers, local musicians, and more are featured on Saturday during the summer only.

2. The night life.

Fayetteville is home to the popular tourist attraction, Dickson Street. Dickon Street features local shops, dining, music venues and more. Check out George’s Majestic Lounge. This lounge is the longest-operating pub in Fayetteville, founded in 1828. It’s a Dickson Street icon you don’t want to miss.

3. The history.

Fayetteville hosts plenty of historic Arkansas sites. If you have an interest in American History—especially if you are a Civil War buff—you don’t want to miss sites like the Tebbetts House. The Tebbetts House, also known as the Headquarters House, was built in 1852. It was used by both confederate and union armies.

When U.S. News set out to find the best metro areas in the US to live, Fayetteville ranked number 5. It was 14 on a list of Best Places to Retire. The study was done on 100 metro areas in the US.

Fayetteville offers residents a high quality of life and a good job market. Most Fayetteville natives are proud to call the city home. So if you are considering moving into a short term apartment, consider Fayetteville!
